  1. Thank you for sharing this article, Dr. Wortman.
BTW, I really like the new “look and feel” of your blog. Truly a successful makeover!

  2. Hi Jay, For me, reading GT is a diet and health reading oasis not unlike the serenity of your blog photo. Thanks for posting it. BTW, starting on page 145 of GC,BC Taubes gives the more elaborated version. What I’d also like to see in the NY Times is an extraction of page 168-9 where GT gives a stupendous nutritional analysis of a porterhouse steak to argue that the same fats that we know reduce heart disease risk are in the foods we are told to avoid. I guess that was in the “what if was all a big, fat lie” article of 2002. Sometimes I think I’m going a little overboard when I can cite page numbers of GCBC…

  3. Dr Wortman, I am a new member of your site, I must admit looking into all the information out there regarding diabetes type 2 it becomes very confusing. I have read your site and also found your YouTube video very interesting. Is there a way I can ease myself into your suggestions on diet, for example start by just cutting all carbohydrates out. Are there any little extra tips? Or should I go straight to the Atkins diet?

I am not sure if I have posted this on the correct page!!

Welcome to my blog and the world of LCHF. I generally recommend to people who want to try LCHF to get one of the reputable diet books to use as a guide. Currently, I recommend “The Art and Science of Low Carbohydrate Living” by Volek and Phinney or the newest Atkins book by Westman, Volek and Phinney. If you use Atkins, I caution against increasing carbs as they prescribe, especially if you have insulin resistance. Good luck!

  4. Dr Jay, thanks for the reply. Is this the best place for me to post messages or is there a more suitable place.

    Regards
